Daring adventure or nothing?

 Hello my darkling's

Hope your all ok and coping with the uncertainty of this horrid virus? But then life has always been uncertain it's just how we cope with it isn't it? A quote I saw the other day sum's it up it read " Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and the awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That's just living heart breaking, soul healing, amazing, ordinary life. And it's breathtakingly beautiful." - LR Knost.

So on that note I retreat to my bubble which is my craft room/summerhouse to enjoy some freedom from worry and life in general it truly is a lovely bubble to be in! I wanted to create something that would use my new Dashing crow stamp from aall and create but also incorporate life is a daring adventure saying from another aall and create set with the hot air balloon but as usual I didn't want to use the balloon, no, I used just the quote and used the magnifying glass with flowers. I used most of my aall and create stamps and bubble stencil truth be told I went crazy creating but is that ever a bad thing?

This was the end result and I used more colours than I intended to as I was trying to stick to about 3 ended up using 5 but I am happy with the end result. I also had to use a skull. (After all I am the Queen of Halloween, according to my daughter Katie). I cut out the middle of the magnifying glass and placed acetate behind and then my dashing crow along with a starry background paper. I also did the same with the smaller magnifying glass.

So that is it from me today and my rambling's take care and stay safe

Pirate's treasure

 Hellooo darkling's

Thank you for joining me today and what a treat I think I have for you too!

We are talking pirate treasure today and wow has this really taken a lot of time to do so many stage's and also life get's in the way too but I have managed to bring this wonderful skull-tastic project to life.

I had seen so many treasure chest's and skull project's and I wanted to have a go as all the one's I had seen seemed to be just basic and I really wanted to go the whole hog and really make it stand out, hopefully, it does!

So I really had to put my thinking cap on and figure out what I truly wanted it to look like. I had bought a wooden "treasure" box and I had lot's of mould's so I had to make lot's of coin's, shell's, trimming's for the lid and it took a while for me to collect everything I needed as I kept changing my mind!

Compass, octopus, more shell's, more coin's and the skull was the last thing on the list so I set to work with everything lot's of gesso, glue, art stone's, gilding wax, texture paste, and some netting too it all came together finally after being in my head for month's. Halloween really is the best time of year as it mean's there is far more available to buy in the shop's for not only my crafting needs but also my house decoration!

Anywho thanks for listening to my rambling's and look after yourselves and stay safe.

Love and hugs Moldy xx 💀

Dragon's brew part 2.

 Hello my darkling's

Hope you are all well and managing to do a spot of crafting?

I successfully finished my dragon's brew bottle last night and I must say I am very happy with how he has turned out using my lovely new paint's, think they are Inca gold paint's, amazing colour's & I also used gilding wax copper colour. The picture's don't really do it justice as the colour's are very intense and vibrant.

Lot's of glue and patience was needed for this guy with all the drying time & fiddly bits like the lid, at one point it looked like a certain president's hair, whoops but it was all good after a haircut!😂

The dragon & the eye are from Katy Sue design's as is the clay that I used, hearty soft.

I must thank the lovely Susan Andrews from Magik Graphics for the amazing video tutorial on her altered bottle & for the inspiration because without her the tumbleweed would still be flying around in my head! Susan has posted the video on her group, Magik Graphics, so check it out you won't be disappointed.

My next mixed media project's are a couple of mdf kit's that I have just received this morning from Madhatters an owl & a haunted house with book but I also have an idea swirling around my head for a sunken treasure chest so I am truly spoilt for choice!

Anywho enough from me you go & get those internal cogs working for your next project.

Take care stay safe & craft on 💀

Dragons Brew - A work in progress.

 Afternoon darkling's

I hope today find's you all well & keeping safe?

A lovely evening last night at our local crafting group several different craft's going on I made a few birthday card's for some friends so I am unable to show those here but I am in the process of upcycling an empty gin bottle, I had a little help in emptying the contents I hasten to add, so just the one picture of the progress so far a bit of hearty clay a lick of paint but still so much to do I will  post another picture tomorrow if all goes according to plan!

Trying to keep my mind busy and not let the tumbleweed take over is pretty tricky at times but we all have our way's with coping with life and crafting in my little corner helps with that.

I see a lot of quotes and advice on social media either through crafting groups or certain pages and one struck a chord with me yesterday and it read "Sometimes you just have to STOP and appreciate all the good things in your life."

So take care of each other and appreciate everyone and everything you are given even if it is just a smile or a chat to a loved one.

Stay safe out there.

Welcome to my corner of the asylum.

 Afternoon darkling's

Well what can I say about 2020?Total rubbish, a bad joke, or a nightmare the choice's are endless, but I think I would rather look to the positive's that has happened than the sad and depressing.

Thankfully my family and friends are well. However with the current situation we are not able to meet up and craft as we would like so the zoom meeting's have come in handy to chat to the crafty family to catch up on things. I have been enjoying a bit of crafting at a small group not far from me, the rule of 6 being strictly adhered to and all the covid rules in place, just nice to have a couple of hours just to chill and chat to other like minded crafter's.

I am enjoying my crafting but I do miss the big crafting workshop's at Peterborough, with the lovely teach that is Sally Ann, our last meet up was February which is so long ago!

As I say though we have had our zoom meeting's so they have really helped and so too oddly enough so has social media to a certain degree.

Anywho as I say I have been crafting & so thought I would just share the little corner of my craft area, or my corner of the lunatic asylum, the little thing's that keep me happy and just that little bit more weird from the bonker's world we are living in at the moment.

So enjoy whatever you get up to & be kind to each other & stay safe & forever odd.

Bye for now, Nikki aka Moldy xxx
